Peter M. Schosheim, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Chief Executive Officer and Founder

Dr. Peter Schosheim is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon. In 1983 he was the founder of the Center for Arthroscopic Surgery and Sports Medicine in Boca Raton, Florida. He served as managing partner of the Boca Raton Orthopedic Group in Boca Raton, Florida, from 1989 to 2002. He received his undergraduate education from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia and his medical degree from New York Medical College. After completion of an internship at Montefiore Hospital in New York, Dr. Schosheim served his surgical residency at Lenox Hill Hospital and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Lenox Hill and the Harvard-affiliated Boston Children’s Medical Center in Boston.

He completed a fellowship in arthroscopic surgery and sports medicine at Orthopedic Research of Virginia in Richmond, Virginia. Dr. Schosheim has been a frequent lecturer, published numerous articles on sports medicine and arthroscopy, and served as consulting physician to sports and athletic programs for more than 25 years.

Dr. Schosheim was an assistant clinical professor of the Department of Orthopedics, University of Miami School of Medicine from 1989 to 2002, where he taught arthroscopic surgery and performed clinical research. He was a consultant to numerous professional sports teams during his residency, including the New York Rangers and the New York Knickerbockers. He was the past president of the medical staff of Boca Raton Community Hospital and sat on its board of trustees from 1998 to 2004. In 2000 and 2001, Dr. Schosheim was featured in Miami Metro magazine as one of “South Florida’s Top Doctors,” in the field of orthopedic surgery. He was also recognized as one of U.S. News & World Report’s “Top 1,000 Surgeons in the U.S.”

Dr. Schosheim is a diplomate of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons. He is a past fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American College of Surgeons and the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine. He is a member emeritus of the American College of Sports Medicine and the Arthroscopy Association of North America.

After retiring from active orthopedic practice in 2002, Dr. Peter M. Schosheim identified a need within the legal community to help attorneys better understand the medical aspects of their medically related cases particularly when it comes to medical malpractice and personal injury cases.

As a result of this need, Dr. Schosheim founded Physicians Medical Review (PMR) in January of 2003. He has served as CEO since its inception.
